Career Services Consultant

How did you get here? During my first year of college I got the most convenient job I could find as a Desk Clerk at the front desk of my residence hall. I was able to wear sweats, work on homework, and watch Netflix, but I also learned about the field of Student Affairs from my supervisor. After not using the career services office at all during undergrad, I surprisingly ended up with an assistantship in career services during grad school. It was there I learned to love career coaching and knew I want to continue doing it as a career.

What do you like most about working at the CCO? I love hearing the success stories of the students I work with and seeing the impact Boilermakers are making all over the world after graduating.

What is the most unusual job you have ever had? For two summers I was a Camp Counselor at the summer camp I grew up going to. Some of my responsibilities included cooking breakfast over a fire, singing silly songs on the bus, making tons of friendship bracelets, and playing all-camp games of Capture the Flag.

Fun Fact: As a joke in grad school my friends wrote in my name on the student government election ballot. I won a seat with 3 votes and was later impeached for not being able to attend meetings.

Favorite Things: Coke, Sam’s Club , Survivor, and TLC reality shows

Advice for students: Tell everyone you know when you’re looking for a job or internship. You never know who knows who. Your cousin’s best friend might work for your dream company!
